YouthQuake

What is a Youth Quake? It is a significant political, social or cultural change, arising from the actions and influence of young people. Meath YouthQuake aims to shake up the stereotypes of young people and promote the good work being done by young people, while affecting change with decision makers on issues in County Meath.

We do this through various projects like our Youth Participation Day. This brings together over 100 young people representing Secondary Schools in Meath. Workshops are run by YouthQuake with support from Youth Work Ireland Meath youth workers on topics and issues raised by YouthQuake.
Opinions are collected from each topic and reports compiled and brought to the Board of Directors and relevant authorities where action plans are asked to be put in place to address the identified needs.

YouthQuake also collaborates with national agencies like Youth Work Ireland, NYCI and Trocaire, to work on large scale projects and in particular around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We also advocate and work with those young people whose voice is seldom heard and in particular with those going through the Direct Provision system.
